Being in place where people declared it as 'lots of nice food to eat'
I thought that i won't have the headache of thinking what to eat later....
I know everybody would just come to Melaka for chicken rice ball, nyonya food, ikan bakar... etc...
wait....
what actually are the ETC?
is there really so much more food you can really find here in melaka?
To be honest... except that 3 food i said... all the other are not the specialty of this Historical State...
Furthermore... why is there so many fast food around if there's really so many nice food around?
& i totally disagree to anybody saying a particular branch of fast food is nicer.....

It's the end of year.... kids around the country just started their year end holiday....
So despite of the singaporeans who pays a regular visit here every weekend...
people from around the country are traveling here....
Being exhausted from exams... My brain & my ass switched place & I actually decided to go enjoy a nice cozy dinner in town.... Which I'm still undecided of where exactly to go...


So... this is where I was last night...... Stuck in a jam for more than 1 hour.... having a spastic stomach... dying.....
Came to the entrance of dataran pahlawan carpark area.. The guard stood infront there saying the parking is full...

Hainanese Chicken Chop

It's been a very long while since the last time i came to this shop....

Yik Gei Coffeeshop in Dang Wangi...
I think this shop has been there at least more than 3 decades...
perhaps longer..
It's a hainanese coffee shop which they serve Hainanese western food...
Here's the menu...

Well....
During the British colonisation period...
Most of the hainanese work for the British as cooks...
I'm guessing from what they learn from the guai lou is you just fry a piece of meat & serve with some gravy...
So I wonder if one of them forgot how it suppose to taste like...
or just wanna do a fusion...
so they actually made the gravy china style...
& to me.... what so special about hainanese chicken chop is...
They are to drown the piece of meat with the gravy~
You'll get what I mean later.....

Judging from the shop appearance..
You would be thinking how nice the food would be...
With a 42" plasma TV showing some advertisement...
They actually kept the taste as it is compare to many many years ago....
But I have to warn you....

Don't judge the meat by its appearance....
The meat is marinated with the old school sauce... Lea & Perins
But then since they drown it.... It absorbed the gravy & you might not really like the moussy feeling..... & also the wedges... It's kinda cold~
As i think they fried them & left it there.... Cause the food came to me in lss than 10 minutes...


Some how... this is the kind of food where Yap Ah Loi was having with the Guai Lou at that period.... Lets just hope their children would keep the business as this is one of the unique culture where you only can find it in Malaysia...

Anyway... Due to my extreme limited knowledge of history... I could only thought of Yap Ah Loi.. The reason of me not saying Tunku Abdul Rahman is..... let me zoom in to the menu...


Roti Babi~ Why they wanna have a Malay word for it when they're not serving Malays??

Sick....

Went home on a very relaxing weekend...
As there's no assignments... test... whatever for me to worry about...
Met my Lovely cousin Lynn back from Melbourne for a short break...
Gosh... I do miss her at times u noe....

But......
I'm sick now...
Skipped morning class today....
But It was a right decision to make....
My Throat has been killing me for 2 days... It was the worst in the morning today...
That's why i decided not to go class...
As soon as i got up from bed at 11am... I felt so so so much better...
Just as i expected.... Running nose falls in.....

WHY IS MALAYSIA MELAKA SO HOT!!!
This is perhaps the 4th time this year i got this...
& each time i would fall on my bed with high fever & terrible sorethroat....
Each time i would be telling my group mates I'm Dying!!!

Being to type this entry with running nose....
I couldn't really blog about food right now...
As I actually went to a very classic restaurant in KL...
I think that shop is there before my dad was born....
But.... Not now...

I'm sick....
